The FBI is cautioning people against using charging stations in shopping centers and at air terminals, as per a tweet from the department’s Denver office.
Officials warn that criminals may use public charging stations as a way to install malware on personal devices to steal personal information as well as to secretly monitor your everyday activities. This is a true privacy concern here.
So people are advised to take caution and use an electrical outlet rather than the USB ports located at various points in public places. And also to bring their own USB cord and charger rather than using the public ones.
